Shows & Entertainment - Las Vegas

Zarkana is a Cirque du Soleil show, held at the Aria, featuring 70 world class acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, high wire and trapeze artists. M wasn’t sure if he was going to like it when we walked into the theater, but after the first act, he was hooked and excited to see more. The most impressive act of the show was two twin brothers. They would fly, from either aerial straps or by each other, only hanging on by the strength of their arms and hands, swinging through the audience. It was magical. Zarkana is one of many Cirque du Soleil shows performed on the Strip. While you’re visiting, definitely go see one!

If you’re looking to visit a lot of pools, nightclubs, gentlemen’s clubs, or lounges, get the V-Card: Vegas Nightclub Pass. It offers complimentary admission, along with VIP line access and some clubs even offer free limo service. With access to over 25 of Vegas’s best clubs, why wouldn’t you get this? It pays for itself in two to three club visits, and the cards never expire as long as the club continues to offer the V-Card program. We purchased the V-Card on Groupon for a discount, only $99 for two.

We visited three places using our V-Card Pass; Ghostbar at the Palms, Hyde at the Bellagio and Crazy Horse III Gentlemen’s Club. Our favorite was Ghostbar at the Palms, even though the strip club was pretty fun too.

Since the Palms is off the Strip, you have to get a cab to the hotel, which is nice because it keeps the riff raff of the Strip at bay. Upon entering the hotel, you find a sign for Ghostbar. Down a narrow hallway, security checks you and opens an elevator to take you up to the 55th floor. The elevator doors open to loud music and strobe lights. You are now at the party. Ghostbar has a sensual, sophisticated vibe featuring an elegant design with a feminine feel and an exquisite color scheme of white, black, and fuchsia. M and I loved the atmosphere in the club; it wasn’t like a frat party at all (go to Hyde at the Bellagio if you’re more into that). There were young people, older people, Las Vegas natives and people from all around the world, and plenty of room to move around and relax. We hung out with a Las Vegas native and some Frenchmen as the night progressed. The bathrooms had perfume and hand towels given to you by an attendant; I didn’t even have to squirt the soap into my hands. M visited the bathroom so many times, his attendant and him became buddies, and he ended up giving M a free cigar. But the best part about Ghostbar was the view. We walked out of the lounge area to a massive balcony with unparalleled views of the night sky and Strip in the distance. Plus dancing our booties off on a 55-story balcony was pretty awesome. Needless to say, we stayed here until 2am having a great time!
