Mike's Place in Kent, Ohio describes itself as a "lively, irreverent eatery with funky decor & a lengthy menu of American comfort eats", and it does not disappoint.
It was 2:00pm and we figured we were going to miss the lunch rush, but when we went inside we found there was a wait list. It seems like the crowd never dies down at Mike's because when we left there was STILL a wait. The restaurant is a labyrinth with walls covered in license plates, vintage signs, old-fashion props and more. You're even able to enjoy your food while sitting in an old 1960's van, inside the restaurant!
When we sat down to eat, we were overwhelmed. The menu is huge with probably over 200 different items to choose from. They have pasta, sandwiches, oriental dishes, pizza, burgers, seafood, salads and all-day breakfast! The menu also features witty, and sometimes crude, one-liners, so it's a great read.
Oh, and I almost forgot...the food is fantastic! Try the BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos.
